Security Operation Center (SOC) – Transition Manager

We are looking for a skilled transition manager to lead and own program management for transition of Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) provided Security Operation capabilities to an internal Fusion center that will replace the MSSP security operations capabilities with a new internally managed Security Operation Center.
The SOC Transition Manager will work with a team based in Eastern Pennsylvania and in Washington, DC. She or he is responsible for successful transition of all active work at the MSSP to the customer managed SOC, while maintaining compliance and operational security stance. It is expected that the transition manager will provide business advisement and program management of a complex multi-step transition considering and managing regulatory, financial, risk, cyber security with due prudence. The Transition Manager will manage stakeholders at the senior leader and executive levels and work with line managers and individual contributors throughout the program. The Transition manager will manage technology and vendor transitions from a full lifecycle perspective from vendor and technology selection through implementation and transition to business as usual operations, while maintaining traceable requirements.
The Transition Manager will manage the transition of a broad range of services supporting the SOC, including process and security engineering needed to support operations, Security Operations Center (SOC) facilities and infrastructure, technology components, and resource planning and acquisition. The Transition Manager will work collaboratively with the Cyber Security and Fusion Center leadership to transition the security operation center. The transition manager will program manage the transition and will be accountable for meeting goals and managing contingencies through diligent program planning and management.   • Demonstrated experience in building or transitioning security operations at Fortune 500 firms

  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) and Cyber Security incident management
  • Experience with infrastructure (VOIP, server, storage, network, security) operations
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures and cloud-based services
  • Working knowledge of project and program methodologies such as iterative and waterfall
  • Working knowledge of cyber security technologies used in operations such as SIEM, Log Management, ticketing systems, analytics
  • 15 years’ experience in the IT industry with at least 7 years’ experience in managing project/program delivery.
  • At least 5 years process or operational design experience
  • This includes significant experience with large enterprise cyber security operations including: experience starting and leading engagements; program and business operations; resourcing; scheduling; training; vendor and service provider management; and information sharing.
  • Experience managing large and diverse teams in multi-firm programs
  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher in a related discipline
